Enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and incredible views while trotting horseback along the trails of the McCasland, Youman, and Pig Foot Ranches in Star, Texas.

Experience a family fun weekend! Three scenic trail rides, amazing breakfast, lunch, and supper, refreshments, live music, and dancing, all while helping kids in need.

The 2021 Cowpokes for Kids Trail Ride is May 14th-16th, 2021.


There is a donation of $100 per person for the weekend (12 and Under are Free). This will cover the cost of all your meals, entertainment, and trail ride experience.

All proceeds from the event go to New Horizons, a home for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

Star, Texas is located on Hwy. 84, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, approximately 70 miles west of Waco.


  • Drive to Star, TX
  • At the intersection of Hwy 84 and FM 1047, turn South on FM 1047
  • Drive 2.5 miles and The McCasland Ranch entrance is on the right
  • We will have signs before you get to the entrance so you can slow down



Negative Coggins is required and will be verified upon entry.

Wagons are welcome.




We will have an auction to help round out the night of dancing under the stars. If you have an auction item to donate, bring it with you when you register.


All proceeds from the event benefit the kids at New Horizons. New Horizons provides a home and specialized treatment and care to boys and girls, ages 5 to 17, who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect.
